Nothing Gold Can Stay

Everything changes. No d how much we want to hang on to the things we cherish, they’re a part demm refer we’re bdound to fade.

While we touched on the Buddhist principle of impermanence a few weeks back, a clip from the 80’s blockbuster The Outsiders is just too perfect to pass up.

The movie’s final scene provides a beautiful example of the fleeting nature of everything…in this case, a beautiful golden sunset. You can watch the clip here. Bing Videos.

Buddhism teaches that being able to understand and accept impermanence can help us gain a greater appreciation of beauty and can save us from the suffering that comes with trying to hang on to things that are destined to pass.

Stay gold Ponyboy.
